In January 2009 two new companies were set up: Metro Engineering and Napoli Metro Engineering.
Metro Engineering
Metro Engineering Srl (ME) develops and manages contracts that involve administrations other than Milan City Council. Contracts in progress include:
- Brescia Metro
- Brescia – Bergamo – Milan (BREBEMI) motorway
- Turin Metro
- Thessaloniki Metro (Greece)
- Bologna – Portomaggiore railway line
- Milano Comasina – Limbiate Ospedale light rail transit
- Cosenza Rende connection system
- University of Calabria
- Tramway “delle Valli”, Bergamo – Albino section
- Verona Light Rail Transit
- Bypass tunnel around the town of Faver along the State Road 612 in the Val di Cembra (Trento).
ME is managed by a Sole Administrator: Stefano Cetti.

Napoli Metro Engineering
Napoli Metro Engineering Srl (NME) inherited the operating structure that had been involved in planning and managing works on Line 1 of the Naples Metro for more than 25 years, and for five years had been involved in the civil works design for Line 6 of the Metro. In particular, NME undertook the feasibility studies and preliminary designs, functional planning of stations, tunnels, structures along lines, depots, workshops and interchange parkings, as well as the works management for the structural civil works, finishes and systems. Moreover, NME assists the concessionaire, Metronapoli, in its technical and administrative dealings with the Naples City Council and the Ministry of Transport and collaborates with Metronapoli and Ansaldo Trasporti Ferroviari during the testing and commissioning stages.
NME is managed by a Sole Administrator: Enrico Pedraglio.
