Activities

In view of the deterioration of the buildings of the Cascine Chiesa Rossa (Red Church Farmhouses) complex, which have been declared a national monument – and subjected to environmental and landscaping controls - the Municipality of Milan, the owner of the buildings, gave Metropolitana Milanese the task of restoring them, in two lotes, with the additional aim of rendering the buildings once more available for cultural, educational and communal interest initiatives. Lot 1 consisted of restoring the Cascina Grande (Main Farmhouse), which provides for renovation of the building and construction of a multimedia library inside it. The 3rd Lot provided for consolidation, restoration and the project for reusing the church buildings, rectory and surrounding areas. The planting of trees and plants is being carried out directly by the Municipality of Milan.
