The project involves the new motorway link between the A4 motorway and the SS Transpolesana trunk road (connecting Verona and Rovigo), with a length of 54 km (33.8 miles). The design was awarded by tender to a temporary association of design companies within the main consortium. Metropolitana Milanese is responsible for design of the final section, from the toll booth at Piacenza D’Adige onwards, with a total length of 11 km (6.9 miles). Metropolitana Milanese was also responsible for the structural design of the Saline tunnel, the motorway toll barrier at Badia Polesine, the exit at Piacenza d’Adige, the two-level interchange with provincial road no. 88 and the intersection between the motorway and the SS 434 Transpolesana trunk road.
