With an area of approximately 381,000 m² (94 acres), is the largest built by MM. It can house up to 34 trains, and can therefore meet both current operating requirements and those expected in future developments. The depot has a test track 1821 m (5,974 ft) long; for a full simulation of the line during tests two stations have been reproduced: one in a tunnel, almost level with the centreline of San Donato station, the other on the line running at ground level, so that the route between the two points is equivalent to that of a real journey.
