This depot is the most recent of those built in Milan, and allows undercover accommodation of all current trains and those planned following the extension of Line 2. It consists of a large shed that can accommodate 18 trains, plus another 18 tracks, giving a total parking capacity of 36 trains. Designed by Ludovico Magistretti, Famagosta depot is an impressive architectural image for those entering the City from the A7 motorway, a tapering shape with projections reminiscent of sails, giving the impression of a port of arrival.
