Parco pumping station

Structural and electromechanical reorganisation of the ap parco pumping station

Brief description

The Parco station is located in the area in which it was built in 1888. The first well on the Milan aqueduct, it came into operation on 28 June 1908 and was completely rebuilt in 1963. Today it has become essential to carry out electromechanical and structural reorganisation with the installation of part of the water storage tank and a treatment system consisting of 15 active granular carbon filters in stainless steel to eliminate micro pollutants present in the drinking water. The construction of a reinforced concrete wall separating the filtering area for the filters and the water storage tank has allowed the creation of a technical area in which to locate the new systems to treat the water supply. The station has also been redesigned from the electrical point of view with a 23kV primary supply, 500 V secondary supply for the main and well pumps and 400 V for the station lighting and power supplies.
