Providing accessibility and a connection to the extensive Milan network, the LRT meets the need for transport services in the Sesto Marelli Falck area, which is undergoing a complex urban planning operation, involving a substantial overhaul of the local road system. Secondly it can serve longer-distance passenger flows from Cinisello Balsamo, Monza, the A4 motorway, the Rho-Monza provincial road, SS36 national road and the railway lines from Como and Lecco. The LRT will have 17 stops: Q.re Marelli, Cimitero, Marelli Est, Marelli ABB, Marelli M1, Isonzo, XXIV Maggio, Verdi, Giovanna d'Arco, Mazzini, Falck Italia, Falck Sud, Flack FS, Falck T3, Falck Parco, Falck Nord. The northern LRT has an interchange with the Line 1 at Sesto Marelli and Sesto 1 Maggio FS.
