The project is part of a wider plan to reorganize the queuing area of the Paullese trunk road into Milan. Metropolitana Milanese, at the request of the City of Milan, has produced the final and executive designs and will be in charge of works management, which will begin in 2011. Lot 2 is a natural continuation of the Paullese road after the flyover across the eastern bypass. The new road will be entirely underground, with a 400-metre tunnel close to the park in the new Rogoredo Montecity area. Connection to the local road network will be at Via Bonfadini, through a new two-level interchange, with urban-type roads and bridges designed to enhance landscaping. The project also includes redevelopment of Via Solomon, with the integration of a row of high-trunk trees separating the carriageway from the adjacent pedestrian and cycle track. It involves the construction of approximately 30,000 m2 of new green areas, with the planting of about 500 new trees and 7000 shrubs.
